Borowicz Commends Funding for Fire, EMS Companies in the 76th House District

HARRISBURG – Today, Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R-Clinton/Union) released a statement announcing nearly $350,000 in funding for Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) grants across the 76th House District.

The grants were announced by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC) within the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA). The ongoing funding program was created by the General Assembly.

“Our first responders voluntarily put their lives on the line for all of us!” Borowicz said. “We owe them a debt of gratitude for all the sacrifices they and their families make.”

The following list includes all the grant recipients in the 76th District and the funding amounts:

Clinton County
• Avis Volunteer Fire Company - $13,256.07.
• Beech Creek Blachard Volunteer Fire Company - $14,228.68.
• Beech Creek Blachard Volunteer Fire Company EMS - $15,000.
• Buck Tail Medical Center - $15,000.
• Castanea Volunteer Fire Company - $13,645.11.
• Chapman Twp Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 - $13,450.59.
• Citizens Hose Company No. 5 - $16,562.94.
• Citizens Hose Company No. 1 Inc. - $13,061.55.
• Dunnstown Fire Company -$14,423.20.
• Goodwill Hose Company Ambulance - $10,000.
• Goodwill Hose Company No. 3 - $13,450.59.

Union County
• Mifflinburg House Company No. 1 - $16,951.99.
• Union County West End Ambulance & Rescue Association - $10,000.
• William Cameron Engine Company - $15,395.81.
• William Cameron Engine Company EMS - $15,000.

The OSFC manages financial assistance programs for the state’s fire, ambulance and rescue organizations in order to improve and enhance their abilities to provide firefighting, ambulance and rescue services.

To receive the grants and retain eligibility for the program, fire and ambulance companies’ paperwork must be submitted to the OSFC by July 1.
