An overflow crowd of citizens met in the state capitol rotunda Monday for the annual Rally to Protect Your Right to Keep and Bear Arms. The event, established in 2006, drew dozens of state lawmakers and hundreds of citizens from across the commonwealth in support of the Second Amendment and Article 1, Section 21 of the Pennsylvania Constitution which states: “The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.” Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R-Clinton & Centre) offered comments at the event.

State lawmakers unveiled a proposal to enact term limits for members of the state House and Senate Tuesday in Harrisburg. The measure seeks to amend the Pennsylvania Constitution to limit a member of the General Assembly to 12 consecutive years of service in each chamber. That equates to six consecutive two-year terms for House members and three consecutive four-year terms for senators. The lawmakers expressed their believe that the change would help improve the legislative environment in both chambers. Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R-Clinton & Centre) attended the capitol press conference and spoke in support of the new term limits proposal.

Gov. Tom Wolf unveiled his 2019-2020 state budget proposal on Tuesday in Harrisburg. The $34 billion spending plan represents a nearly 1 billion dollar increase in state spending over last year. Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R-Clinton & Centre) said she as deep concerns about the Governor's budget proposals to expand government services and spending.

Members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives were sworn in Tuesday in Harrisburg with the members taking the oath of office in the House chamber at noon to officially begin the 2019-20 legislative session. Republicans hold a 110-93 majority in the House with 19 newly elected Republican members. This is the fifth consecutive term that Republicans have retained majority control of the PA House. Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R-Centre/Clinton) offered comments on the swearing-in ceremony and opening of the new legislative session.
